If you were to take a poll of different classes, races, or sexes of people about what they thought one of the most important articles of clothing ever invented was, you can bet that a large majority of them all would say it has to be the t-shirt. T-shirts are worn by almost everyone at one time or another and for many different reasons. Just exactly why are we so attached to these particular articles of clothing?

One of the most important reasons that we choose to put on a t-shirt so many times during the week is for the sheer comfort of it. It is one of the most comfortable items ever made. It is can worn loose and baggy to sleep in or we might tuck it in our favorite pair of blue jeans. T-shirts can be worn exactly the way they are and be accepted as proper attire in most of the places we frequent on a daily basis. A five star restaurant might have an objection, but maybe not.

T-shirts are fun wear. We enjoy putting on a t-shirt that has a funny phrase that makes us smile. Today we can personalize them even more. We can have words or sayings of our own choosing or invention put on one and that makes it even more fun to wear. We can put pictures of our loved ones on one to make us feel warm and fuzzy when we slip it over our head.

We can buy a t-shirt that can represent how we feel about many things. It can display our favorite rock band or our favorite politician. When we go on vacation to some place, we will just about always come home with a t-shirt to remember it by. We use t-shirts to remember certain events that we might take part in like a charity function, a marathon we run, or an endless array of other memorable events.

Businesses capitalize on our love for t-shirts by putting their advertisements on them. If we own our own business we are likely to put our own advertisement on t-shirts. What better way to spread the word about something. If it is written on a t-shirt, it is a safe bet that when you leave with it on in the morning, it would be hard to say how many people you encountered during the day that stopped long enough just to read what is written on your t-shirt. T-shirts are a marvelous invention for many reasons.
